anyone who watched the dumpster fire of a speech trump held at CIA’s headquarters on jan. 21 might be perplexed as to how trump managed to draw applause and laughter from a crowd of CIA agents, after literally spending the whole speech (which, btw, took place in front of a memorial for fallen CIA agents, against the CIA’s will) whining about the size of his inauguration crowd, attacking the media, and openly suggesting he may start another iraq war just to steal their oil [x]

well it turns out the clapping and laughter we heard did not come from the CIA agents (who were deeply offended by the whole thing), but instead from trump’s own people, who were there to cheer him on and create an illusion of popularity and support within the CIA (who is currently investigating trump’s ties with russia) [x] [x]

he also did this at a press conference earlier in january [x]

and while it’s easy to just laugh this off as trump being a pathetic and insecure piss boy (which he is), we’re also gonna have to start taking this stuff seriously, because right now he’s is literally distorting reality and somehow sucessfully manipulating a good chunk of americans with his pathetic, piss boy propaganda

“Everybody has experienced the defeat of their lives. Nobody has a life that worked out the way they wanted it to work out. We all begin as the hero of our own dramas, in centre stage, and inevitably life moves us out of centre stage, defeats the hero, overturns the plot and the strategy and we’re left on the sidelines, wondering why we no longer have a part, or want a part, in the whole damn thing. So everybody’s experienced this. When it’s presented to us sweetly, the feeling goes from heart to heart and we feel less isolated and we feel part of the great human chain, which is really involved with the recognition of defeat.”
- Leonard Cohen on why people enjoy listening to melancholy songs. From a BBC radio interview in 2007. (via sonnywortzik)

I wanted to make my character more natural and realistic. Although people expect the tone of the film to be fantasy, it actually is quite the contrary. It’s an intimate story that feels real. I think of all the Star Wars films released so far, Rogue One is the most real one, which is about the people. The characters are very similar to us. They are heroes with no powers. What they have is a conviction and desire to change reality — Diego Luna discusses his role as Captain Cassian Andor.

she felt one thousand years old. she also felt like maybe she was a condescending brat. she wanted her bike. she wanted her friends, who were also one-thousand-year-old condescending brats. she wanted to live in a world where she was surrounded by one-thousand-year-old condescending brats.
