“"Letting someone in meant trusting them to not stab me in the back when terible people came looking for me. I was too afraid to risk it, so it was easier to be alone and not think about it. But I trust you.”
“You shouldn’t.”
“Says the man who stopped.” Neil gave Andrew a few moments to respond before saying, “I don’t understand it, and I don’t know what I’m doing, but I don’t want to ignore it just because it’s new. So are you completely off-limits or are there any safe zones?”
“What are you hoping for, coordinates?”
“I’m hoping to know where the line are before I cross them,” Neil said, “but I’m open to drawing a map on you if you want to loan me a marker. That’s not a bad idea.”
“Everything about you is a bad idea,” Andrew said, as if Neil didn’t already know that.
“I’m still waiting for an answer.”
“I’m still waiting for a yes or no I actually believe,” Andrew returned.
“Yes.”“

i can’t fucken believe that one of the main arguments against wind farms is that they’re an eyesore

do you know what’s an even bigger eyesore?

not having fuckin trees or coral reefs or glaciers or any number of incredible natural beauties because fossil fuels and pollution and global fuckin warming killed it all dead

“Why’d you let the planet die?”

“Aesthetic.”

[[Image description: Tweet by Jenna Rice @jenna_niccole reads “why is just making fun of disabled people considered horrible, but ACTUALLY KILLING US is ‘well maybe there was a reason/they’re better off’]]

Getting really fed up with people using Trump mocking a disabled person as a prop for “the worst ever,” yet these people couldn’t care less about tragedies disabled people actually face, like the 2016 Japan massacre of people with disabilities (will we ever even know the names of the victims?,) or the frequent cases here in the US where caregivers kill their disabled children and get sympathy, or history of Aktion T4, or what’s happening in North Korea now, or deaths in the UK over disabled people being declared “fit to work” and this decision killing them, or the horrifying statistics of cops killing disabled citizens (that up to half of people killed by cops in the US are disabled,) or the fact that 43,000 people will die per year if the ACA is repealed and not properly replaced… If you’re going to use disabled people as props in your activism, maybe you should educate yourselves and ACTUALLY include us in your activism.

(For further reading on disability issues and Trump’s administration specifically, here have just a few more links for the road. And most of them are from the campaign. Things have gotten, and can get, worse.)

we are sick of being used as mere props for sympathy

#most the time i see disability discussed on here its usually being used as an addendum to a different issue #like it’s used to add greater weight to your specific cause #but god forbid people talk about disability in general -@pressxtodavid  this is really important

#This reminds me of that interview Nick Gillard did where he said the ‘high ground’ scene #and the entire way Obi-Wan beats Anakin was a last minute change George forced and he doesn’t like it #because he choreographed the entire fight scene around Obi-Wan’s character #and the fact that he firmly believes Obi-Wan WOULD NOT try to kill Anakin #and basically that he wouldn’t harm him until Anakin forced his hand and left him absolutely no choice but to wound him in self defense #how he said he looked at it like having a fight with your significant other #and the way he designed it is that Obi-Wan spends the fight not actually trying to beat Anakin but just ‘taking it’ #in hopes that Anakin will wear himself out and break down at which point Obi-Wan can ‘give him a cuddle’ #and since what we see is what he choreographed his opinion on it IS essentially canon (x)

*VIOLENT LOUD UNABASHED SOBBING*

As a fanfic writer, if this is true I now know this incredibly weird and awkward thing (Obi-Wan dismembering Anakin) that I have to write around and try to fit into Obi-Wan’s character is weird and awkward for a reason.

I mean, Obi-Wan canonically took off every limb EXCEPT for the artificial one, which is remarkably vicious… As a writer that’s a tough corner to write a character out of if you’re trying to make one readers sympathize with.

#i’m so fascinated by this character tho#how warm and caring he is on the inside #but how COLD his actions are#and how he’s completely unable to realize it#just…such a layered and flawed and GOOD man #i love obi-wan kenobi a lot ok#i have so many feelings about him (via @flaminganakin)

If any of y'all try to say, “We survived Reagan, we’ll survive this,” expect a fucking earful from me.

Have you ever noticed that young gay men seem to vastly, overwhelmingly outnumber old gay men?

We most certainly did NOT survive Reagan.

As someone who personally survived the Reagan/Thatcher years, I’m gonna second this. The minimal margin by which some extremely fortunate and possibly privileged members of our community crawled out of the smouldering wreckage of that period is not actually a sign that ‘we’ survived. We, as a cultural group, lost so much and so many that modern LGBT+ culture is essentially reinventing the wheel as far as cultural concepts go. We didn’t survive. We started over.

There’s no human bond that compares to what Alec and I have. We’re bound together for life. Bound to fight together, to protect each other. In battle, our hearts beat as one. If one of us were to die… a part of the other would die inside as well.

Jace is a part of me. Through our rune we’re both physically and emotionally connected. If he dies, a part of me dies, too.
